Out, out, brief candle

Early potatoes

I've never been so pleased to see a potato. Thought they'd never make it.

How good was yesterday? The sun shone like it meant business, and I got a little burned. Did two hours of sowing, weeding and diverse agriculture.

I even acquired a blister. It's been about 18 months since it was possible to work outside long enough to get one of them.

But don't pack away the hot water bottle. It's back to pissing rain and March temperatures next week.

Not exactly very cheery the old Bard was he.....

To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,creeps in this petty pace from day to day,to the last syllable of recorded time.

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools the way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more:it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing..

Applause! One of my favourite bits, oft quoted. Could have been written for a glass-is-half-empty type of guy.

I was planting up a mini 'woodland' wildlife garden under the fruit trees...was going well. This week a potato popped up in the middle, must have been one that was idly tossed aside last year. I'm going to leave it in situ. An interesting left-field addition I feel...

Did you notice that you got a mention in Saturday's telegraph?

Thank you, Earthwoman. Yes, I did. Hugely flattered, although 'angst-ridden' fills me with... well, angst. Jeez, do I come across as that neurotic!?

Bless - good to get a mention, shame you sound like a 95 year old miserable sod....we all think you make us laugh! You say eloquently what we all think!

good work.

Thanks for kind words, Cat.

March temperatures next week? FROST! Christ, cover them spuds up quick.

PS. Cheers for the link.
